The Founder's Story
Ed Terrell spent over a decade as a Senior Business Data Analyst, building systems that turned raw data into clear decisions. But when cancer took his mother, his sister, his nephew, and his Uncle Sonny, he realized the most important data wasn't in a spreadsheet — it was in the gap between a family in crisis and the help that existed but couldn't be found.
In early 2026, while helping a Stage 4 lymphoma patient named Renee navigate the maze of financial assistance programs, medical grants, and community fundraising, Ed built something that didn't exist before: a structured, AI-powered system that could do in hours what normally takes weeks of overwhelmed searching.
That system became the Phoenix Recovery Stack — and the foundation was born with a name that had been part of Ed's identity long before it had a 501(c)(3): Hope Burns Bright.

Technology Partnership
Hope Burns Bright Foundation's technology infrastructure is provided pro-bono by OmniPhoenix Media LLC, an AI consulting firm founded by Ed Terrell. OmniPhoenix donates AI development, platform hosting, and technical consulting to the foundation at no cost.
The foundation operates independently with its own board of directors, finances, and governance — maintaining the arm's-length relationship required for 501(c)(3) compliance.
